Mishra for withdrawal of Padamshri from Teesta Setalvad

Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra has demanded the withdrawal of Padmashri from controversial social activist Teesta Javed Setalvad, arrested on charges of conspiring for riots. He said that it would be appropriate to withdraw this honour from the one against whom the Supreme Court has commented and who is in jail. Mishra has also called the arrest of Mohammad Zubair, who ran an agenda against the country under the guise of journalism, as a right step.

Home Minister Narottam Mishra said that Teesta Javed is actually a member of ‘Tukde Tukde’ Gang. He accused that Congress had given other honours including Padma to such people. He said that Padma honours are given to those people who are ideal for the society, but the Congress government at the Center gave this honour to people like Teesta Javed. To what extent did the Congress government misuse the honours, is evident from the fact that Teesta was honored with the Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavna Award. On the opposition of Congress to the arrest of Zubair, who is running an agenda against the country and society under the guise of journalism, Home Minister Mishra has said that Congress always stands with the ‘Tukde Tukde’ gang. Be it Teesta Javed or Mohammad Zubair, it is natural for the Congress to to feed the pain whenever action is taken against them.

Today Digvijay Singh and other Congress leaders are bawling over the arrest of Zubair, but when Ketki Chitale was put in jail by the Maharashtra government on a simple post in Maharashtra, not a single Congressman's raised their voice against the action.
