A 22-year-old youth was robbed of his wallet and mobile phone by four miscreants near The Bellaire colony under Gandhi Nagar police station area on Wednesday.
According to the police the victim Manish Ghete was robbed by four miscreants near liquor shop close The Bellaire colony of at around 4 am while on his way to work on Wednesday.
The victim managed to escape and reached Gandhi Nagar police and lodged a complaint regarding the robbery.
The victim in his complaint stated that he was on his way to Airport where he works and when reached near The Bellaire Colony he was stopped by three miscreants who asked to shed the belongings which he opposed but one of the miscreant pulled a knife and robbed the accused of his purse carrying Rs 2000 and a mobile phone. The four escaped from the spot with the valuables.
The total loss in the robbery is around Rs 15,000 claimed the victim. The police have registered a case under section 392 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
The victim is a resident of Gandhi Nagar area and works at Raja Bhoj airport.
The victim has routine of walking upto the airport for work and returns in the same manner and possibly the drunkards near the liquor shop have targeted him, said police.
