House of a Retired BHEL official was targeted by miscreants and valuables worth Rs 2.5 lakh were burgled from Alkapuri under Baghsewania police station area on Saturday.
Police said that the victim Satyanarayan Daga had gone to Saket Nagar and when he returned the valuables were found burgled.
A complaint was lodged with the police by the victim in which the victim stated that he left the house in the evening and after around 2-3 hours when he returned, the door of the house was open and on entering, the valuables were found burgled.
The almirah having valuables was found broken. In the incident, more than 70 gms of gold jewellery and Rs 60000 cash was burgled. The total loss in the burglary is around Rs 2.5 lakh.
Police found that within a short period of time miscreants broke the lock and escaped with the valuables which suggest that the miscreants were aware of the whereabouts of the victim and were waiting for the victim.
