Enraged over a petty dispute a 27-year-old youth was attacked by two miscreants with sharp-edged weapons near Rambha talkies on Tuesday; Jehangirabad police have nabbed the accused.
SHO Jehangirabad Virendra Chouhan said that the victim Faraz Uddin and accused Danish and Salman are acquainted with each other and few days ago the two had a dispute with the victim during which Faraz slapped them and to settle score they attacked the victim in the evening on Tuesday.
Among the two accused Danish holds past crime record he has been booked under Arms Act and details of crime record of other accused is under investigation. After the attack victim lodged complaint and based on the complaint accused were nabbed and sharp edged weapons were recovered from their possession, he added. The victim is son of former Congress corporator Aziz Uddin. Soon after the victim was attacked he was rushed to hospital and with the help of CCTV footages the identity of the accused were established which was also detailed by the victim.
In his complaint, the victim told the police that he was near Rambha talkies when the accused came and started a verbal spat and when he opposed he was attacked with sharp edged weapons and the two escaped the spot.
Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation, the police have registered a case under section 307 of the IPC. Any other reason behind the attack could not be ruled out and in the further investigation accused would be quizzed for the same, said police.
