Kamla Nagar police have booked a miscreant who duped Nehru Nagar based victim to the tune of Rs 40000 by fraudster to update KYC; a case was registered on Tuesday.
Vipin Jain received a message to update KYC and closure of bank account and after contacting on the number provided he was cheated to the tune of Rs 40000.
The fraud was committed on June 3. The victim received message stating that KYC is required and failing to which account would be closed, he contacted on the number and accused introduced as bank official and obtained details from the victim.
As soon as victim provided details he started receiving messages of deduction of money from his bank account and received messages of deduction worth Rs 40000.
