Minorities United Organisation (MUO) lodged a complaint with the Talaiya police station of the State capital against the secretary of Auqaf-e-Shahi Anwar Mohammed Khan for irregularities in funds.
MUO President Arif Masood along with distinguished Muslim community members including Muslim Vikas Parishad’s Mohammed Mahir Khan and District Congress Committee vice president Mustaqeem Beg Munnu reached the Talaiya police station and submitted a written complaint demanding to lodge fraud case against Khan.
Masood alleged that Khan uses Rubaat fund for his personal shopping while visiting Mecca and Madina for which he is not entitled.
Hence we have submitted a written complaint with the Talaiya police station demanding detailed investigation of the issue and lodging of an FIR for doing fraud, he added.
Masood, a formerspokesman of the Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee furthers aid that the Auqaf-e-Shahi is responsible for maintenance and taking care of the properties and accounts of Rubaat constructed in Saudi Arabia by the erstwhile rulers of Bhopal to facilitate Haj pilgrims from here. The Haj pilgrims going to Saudi nowadays faces lot of problems due to negligence by the Auqaf-e-Shahi secretary.
“lodging facilities are not proper and when the Shahar Qazi and Mufti asked to show accounts Khan told that we have sufficient funds and would soon buy new place for the lodging of pilgrims but despite providing assurances time and again he failed to do so. Even the Mutawalli of the Auqaf a Shahi Saba Ali and Begum Bhopal Sharmila Tagore announced six months back that new Rubaat would be bought soon but till date they have failed to do so. This is fraud with the people of the city who are in state of shock, hence we demand to book Khan under appropriate sections of fraud,” he added.
