The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has claimed that the chances of progress for minorities are increasing in the country and the State and that 70 per cent of the minorities’ budget would be spent on imparting knowledge and education instead of appeasement.

BJP Madhya Pradesh spokesman Hidayatullah Sheikh in a statement here on Tuesday said, “Minorities were forced to live under backwardness and helplessness due to lack of education. They were trapped in appeasement. After formation of BJP Government’s in the country and state the first step taken in the interest of minorities was that of making arrangements for their education and knowledge.”

Sheikh further said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi led central government has increased the minorities welfare budget to `4195.48 crore while five international level educational institutes to provide higher education to the minorities’ children are going to be opened where they would be imparted technical, medical, Ayurveda, Unani and world class skill development education.  In these institutes 40 per cent seats would be reserved for women, he added.

He said that the Minorities Welfare Ministry has constituted high level committee that would design the lay out plan and place for these institutes and these institutes would become functional by the year 2018. PM Modi has set allegory of company of all, development of all (Sabka sath, sabka vikas).

The erstwhile Government’s neither provided knowledge and education to the minorities nor provides chances for development to them. However, during the times of elections they keep of luring the minorities through appeasement, he added.

The BJP state spokesman said that the reason for minorities remaining under poverty since independence is lack of their businesses empowerment. BJP has made solid initiative in this direction, middleman’s role has been stopped and by providing them employment oriented education they would be brought in the main stream, he added.
