A 47-year old milk trader who was hit with a wooden stick by a miscreant on July 30 at CTO Bairagarh, died in the wee hours on Friday while undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
According to the police, the deceased Tarachand Maran died at around 3.45 am while undergoing treatment at Suditi hospital. Now, the police have registered a case under section 302 of the IPC against the killer Prakash Sharma.
On receipt of information, a police team reached the hospital and sent the body for post-mortem. The police have initiated further probe in the case and launched a manhunt for the killer.
Investigating Officer SI MK Badole said that the accused has been booked earlier for bullying and extorting money from the locals and he used to demand money for liquor and refusing to pay leads to bullying and beating of the victim but this time the fight proved fatal as the deceased was hit on his head with a wooden stick on July 30 after he refused to provide money he demanded for liquor. The refusal angered the accused and he started to beat the deceased and later he attacked the deceased with a wooden stick.
