MG Motor reaffirms its commitment to honouring sustainable and innovative efforts that assist underserved communities through collective empowerment. MG Changemakers initiative, now in its fourth season, recognizes and honors Janak Palta McGilligan, a Padmashri recipient social worker and the founder-director of the Jimmy McGilligan Centre, for her work on sustainable community development. JanakPalta is well-known for conceptualizing sustainable living and empowering women.
She was born into a Punjabi family and holds an MPhil in Political Science as well as a Doctorate in Sustainable Community Development. She is also known as' didi' andhas spent the last 33 yrs advocating for the sustainable living and empowerment of thousands of rural, tribal, and urban deprived girls, women, and men of all ages. She’s an active advocate of solar cooking and strives hard to work hard towards the environment and empowerment with sheer perseverance and willpower.
