A meeting of Nodal Officers of Election Expenditure Monitoring for Lok Sabha General Election-2019 was held under the chairmanship of Chief Electoral Officer VL Kanta Rao.
Rao said that since the implementation of code of conduct for Lok Sabha elections, the agencies have worked with good coordination so far. Excise Department should be stern in checking, transport, distribution and sale of illicit liquor. Strict checking of vehicles of star campaigners and candidates is must but general public and farmers should not be disturbed in the name of checking.
Nodal Officer of Police Department IG Anant Kumar Singh said that all the police teams are engaged. 788 Flying squads, 798 statistical surveillance teams and over 400 video surveillance teams are engaged. More than the scheduled police teams have been deployed in Chhindwara district due to Assembly by elections along with Lok Sabha elections.
Nodal Officer Railway said that 293 teams have been formed. Nodal Officer- Narcotics informed that 340 cases have been registered in Lok Sabha elections 2019 till date.
Nodal Officer Airport Authority said that checking is being carried out daily. Nodal Officer Bank told that the Income Tax department is being informed about cases of more than Rs 10 lakhs transactions. So far, total 90 suspicious transactions have been reported to the Income Tax Department.
Joint Chief Electoral Officer Rajesh Kaul, Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Rajesh Shrivastav and Nodal Officers of Home, Telecommunication, Transport, Doordarshan, Akashwani, Central Industrial Security Force were participated in the meeting.
