Adequate medicines for TB treatment are available at all TB hospitals in the State including the one at Bhopal. Patients are discharged from TB Hospitals in the State Capital only after treatment. The state has 6-month stock of medicines for treatment of TB. About 3 lakh TB patients are being treated free in the state through DOT system. In this system, patient has to take course of medicines staying at home. Patients are admitted in hospital only on advice of doctors and are discharged after a prescribed period on the basis of symptoms. Taking medicines regularly helps control the disease.
