A first year BDS student of Mansarovar Dental College has allegedly committed suicide by hanging with the ceiling at her hostel room in Kolar area on Thursday. The deceased student has been identified as Jaishree Vishwakarma. She was found hanging by her roommates.
The incident took place at around 7.30 am when all her colleagues were gone to bring milk. When the deceased’s colleagues Ekta and Neha returned, the room was locked inside and there was no response from inside when they called her. Then they peeped into the room and were shocked to find Jaishree hanging from the ceiling.
Police said the deceased had reportedly called her father at around 5 am and told him that she was not feeling well. She was not able to concentrate to her study and was depressed over last couple of days. However, her colleagues were not able to answer what bothered her. In October last, the victim fell ill and went to Anooppur and she returned only few days ago after undergoing check up. On her return she told her friends that she was not well and had undergone check up few days ago.
Police have not recovered any suicide note from the spot. The police have registered a case under Section 174 of the CrPC and have started further investigation.
