Newly posted district Collector Manish Singh said that the media plays an important role in development of the city, and coordination of everyone is vital in the development of the city.
While talking to media persons here on Wednesday said that people’s representatives have a big role in Ujjain's development and work is possible only with their coordination. “Along with them we will develop the city together. Already lot of development has been done in the city and lot was done during Simhastha. For the next Simhastha, efforts will be made to do everything in coordination and support of everyone,” he added.
During the discussion with the media Singh said that the important public welfare schemes and programmes of the governance will be implemented and conducted in a better manner. All effort to provide benefits to the beneficiaries of government schemes would be made.
Sharing his earlier experience he said that in the development of Indore, the local representatives played important role and with their help several good works were done and he hopes that in the same way city would be developed with the collaboration of people, representatives of media and local residents.
In compliance with the order of General Administration Department of Government Manish Singh took charge of Collector and District Magistrate of Ujjain on Wednesday and Additional Collector Basant Kurray was handling the responsibility and was relieved after the new collector joined. Singh visited Mahakaleshwar temple before taking charge.
The Municipal Corporation and elected representatives of the ward also have important role in the development of the city. The district administration and police provide good support in the development work.
