Mayor Alok Sharma, Mayor in Council (MiC) members and Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials visited the Nagpur based plant of Apex Buildsys limited and observed the complete process of construction of girder used in the construction Cable Stay Bridge that is under construction the upper lake of state capital.
Sharma, MiC members and BMC officials also held discussions with the officials of girder Construction Company and Cable Stay Bridge constructing company SP Singla Construction Company and told them to construct girders at the earliest and dispatch them to Bhopal.The Apex Buildsys officials ensured the mayor and his team that the first lot of the four girders would reach Bhopal on May 5 and rest of 97 girders needed for the construction of the Cable Stay Bridge would be delivered before July 10 this year.
The mayor visited the girder company to inspect the manufacturing process besides instructing the company to deliver the girders at the earliest so that the under construction bridge on the Kamla Park road connecting new and old city could get completed speedily. The bridge when completed would ease the otherwise congested traffic from old city to new city and vice versa.
The girder manufacturing company officials informed in detail the process and use of the girders in the cable Stay bridge.
Mayor told the company that the girders should be dispatched immediately and work for construction of rest of girders should be speeded and the balance girders should be delivered before June 30. On that the Company officials requested to extend the date and after considering their problems the date for extended till July 10. The Company ensured that the girders would be supplied on set date.
