As the nation celebrated the 69th Republic Day with ceremonial parades and colourful rallies, Maya Singh, Cabinet Minister for Urban Development and Housing, Government of Madhya Pradesh hoisted the flag and took salute of the joint parade of various platoons and fire at the SAF Grounds situated at Kampoo, Gwalior. The Minister was accompanied by Rahul Jain, the District Collector and Ashish, SP, Gwalior.
During the grand and vibrant function the Minister paid respects to the freedom fighters, martyrs and those soldiers who had been injured during battles by presenting shawls and Shreefal to their relatives. She also released a bunch of tricolor balloons in the sky. An air of patriotic fervor flooded the atmosphere as children from different schools presented beautiful performances on various nationalistic themes. The students also expressed their views on Republic Day through songs and speeches. Students from ECS School sang a beautiful song in appreciation of the selfless and splendid services of the Indian soldiers.
The centre of attraction of the Republic Day parade was the joint march past by BSF, CRPF, SAF, 13th and 14th Battalion, District Police Force, junior and senior girls and boys from the NCC and cadets from the Scouts and Guides. The march past was accompanied with vibrant music by the joint band of BSF, CRPF and SAF.
