Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan has said that ever since the Model Code of Conduct for Lok Sabha Elections-2024 came into effect, continuous action is being taken by the police and other enforcement agencies.
He said that from March 16 to April 10, various materials worth Rs 103 crore 33 lakh 19 thousand 639 including cash amount of Rs 13 crore 77 lakh 63 thousand 629 have been seized. This also includes 15 lakh 74 thousand 970 liters of liquor valued at Rs 24 crore 64 lakh 13 thousand 47.
Similarly, more than 14 thousand 780 kg of drugs worth Rs 19 crore 41 lakh 46 thousand 215 and more than 437 kg of precious metals worth Rs 9 crore 40 lakh 40 thousand 623 have also been seized.
Besides, other material (readymade garments etc.) worth Rs 36 crore 9 lakh 56 thousand 125 have also been seized.
