There will be no bar on drought-hit farmers for marrying off daughters in mass marriage functions under Mukhyamnatri Kanyadan/ Nikah Yojana. The State Government has amended this norm of the scheme. Other norms of the scheme will continue. Directives to relax norm about mass marriage programme will be applicable to girls whose marriages are to be solemnized till March 31, 2016.
There will be no bar for marrying off daughters in mass marriage functions for drought-hit farmers of Kharif 2015-16 whose cases have been sanctioned under RBC-6 (4). A sum of Rs. 12 thousand will be given for household articles of bride, Rs. 3000 for holding function and Rs. 10 thousand fixed deposit for 5 years for prosperous married life. Of this, Rs. 15 thousand would be deposited directly in bank account of girls parents/guardian of girls.
Application to avail assistance should be submitted to office of SDO. After verification, application will be forwarded for sanction. Advance amount will be deposited directly in bank accounts of girls parents/guardians within 5 working days after confirmation of her marriage. Certificate regarding use of money by father or girl and photos of marriage along with panchnama should be submitted within a week after marriage.
If a girl or her parents do not furnish Certificate regarding use of amount of assistance and marriage certificate within time-limit then amount deposited in beneficiary’s bank account will be withdrawn. legal action to recover amount will be taken if the bank account has no balance.
