The last rites of sepoy Rahul Pratap Singh, killed in the Naxalite attack in Chhattisgarh, were performed with full State honours at Kulhadia Ghat village in Anuppur district of Madhya Pradesh on Monday. Minister of State for Forests and Revenue, Jai Singh Marawi, represented Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at the funeral.
Marawi gave away a cheque of Rs 10 lakh on behalf of the State government to Singh's father, Virendra Kumar Singh. He informed him that CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan had promised to give government job to the sepoy's wife and a house to the bereaved family. Marawi also read out a condolence message sent by the CM. late Rahul Pratap Singh was posted in the district police force, Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh.
