A 32-year-old married woman was sexually assaulted by her husband’s friend at a hotel under Koh-e-Fiza police station area. A case of sexual assault was registered on Saturday.
According to the police, the victim was sexually assaulted by the accused Shubham Vishwakarma of Piparia, who is her husband’s friend.
In her complaint the victim told the police that accused was acquainted with her husband and accused used to visit her home frequently. On May 25 this year she came to Bhopal for some work and was contacted by the accused who offered her to meet at hotel and as she was acquainted with the accused she went to meet him at the hotel where accused sexually assaulted her and threatened her. Fearing disgrace in the society, she kept mum but a few days ago, the accused contacted the victim and asked her to meet again which she refused.
After the refusal, the accused threatened her to make the sexual assault video public if she doesn’t pandar to his demands. Initially, the victim kept mum but later, she mustered courage and revealed the incident to her husband who later helped her to lodge complaint against the accused.
The police have registered a case under sections 376 and 506 of the IPC and have started further investigation. After the complaint was lodged the accused went absconding and is still absconding. During the investigation, police found that the victim used to live in Bhopal earlier where the accused used to visit her house to meet her husband and later they shifted to Indore. The incident took place when she came to Bhopal for some work.
