In a bizarre incident, a married youth consumed poisonous substance to end life at the residence of his girlfriend on Monday night. The incident was reported in Ayodhya Nagar of the city.
The girlfriend immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he died during treatment on Tuesday. Hearing that her lover has died, she also consumed poison and struggling for life in the hospital.
Police said the condition of Akanksha is out of danger but she is recuperating in the hospital. Police are waiting for recording her statements.
Police said, the deceased Piyush Agrawal (22), a resident of Ashoka garden works at a car showroom where her lover Akanksha also works.
On Monday evening, Piyush reached Akanksha’s Ayodhya Nagar residence and within few minutes they had a dispute over some issue and he consumed poisonous substance that had carried with him.
Piyush was married and he has a daughter. However, he did not discontinue his relationship with Akanksha. It is also stated that Piyush’s wife had also come to know about his affair, due to which he was upset.
Police informed that Akanksha had recently quit job and lived with her friends at Rajiv Nagar under Ayodhya Nagar police station area.
