'Managing haryana polls was a challenge'

Published on:

Madhya Pradesh Urban Administration and Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, who was the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Haryana election in-charge, has said that managing the Assembly election in that State was a big challenge. “When I went to Haryana for the first time, it appeared that the BJP’s road to power in Haryana would be an uphill task.

However, I was reassured that the party would form the Government on its own due to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s wave and Amit Shah’s poll strategy,” Vijayvargiya told reporters at the airport here on Tuesday. He said that the party had paid attention to polling booth management. He said that he had informed Shah and the party high command about the possibility to achieve majority in Haryana on its own, a week prior to the polling.

The Minister was welcomed by party workers by patting up stages at several places. On asking whether he would be rewarded with the post of Chief Ministership in the State, he said that he considered himself a small party worker and was contended with his post.
