Manager of a private company died while his driver sustained severe injuries after their car was hit by a speeding truck near Sukhi Sewania area in the wee hours on Tuesday. According to the police, at around 3 in the night a speeding truck hit a car and escaped the spot leaving the truck. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital where the passenger on the back seat was declared dead while the driver is reportedly critical.
During the initial investigation the identity of the deceased was established as Mrigendra Sharma who was on his way from lucknow to Bhopal in his car. The accident took place at around 2.30 in the night near Sukhi Sewania. At the time of the incident deceased’s driver was driving the car while the deceased was at the rear seat. The deceased was a resident of lala lajpat Rai Society and used to work for Miraj Gold Company, said the police.
Truck bearing registration MBO-1922 was seized by the police after the incident but the truck driver managed to escape the spot. Police said that based on the registration number of the truck the owner would be traced and would be questioned regarding the accident. After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem and the police have registered a case under section 304 A of the IPC. The police have intensified the search for the errant driver. The victim had gone to settle some work related to property claimed the police.
