A 35-year old man was allegedly set ablaze by his wife and brothers-in-law near Jinsi Square under Jehangirabad police station on Wednesday.Police said the victim, identified as Sajid, was set ablaze by his wife and brothers-in-law at Kalla Shah Ka Ahata. Sajid sustained 60 per cent burns over his face, chest and neck. He is currently undergoing treatment at Hamidia hospital where his condition is reportedly critical.
On Wednesday one of his brothers-in-laws, Rizwan, came to his shop and asked him to visit them to resolve a dispute between him and his sister. When he reached there a heated argument took place between Sajid and wife Ameena, which turned violent when her three brothers intervened. The four went infuriated and drag Sajid inside a room and set him ablaze. Shockingly they locked the door due to which the victim sustained severe injuries.
Ameena had left her husband’s house after having dispute with Sajid few days ago.The police have registered a case under Section 307 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
