A man killed his 15-year-old daughter, mistaking her psychological illness for spirit possession, in Sidhi district.
The incident occurred on Saturday, approximately 35 kilometers from Sidhi district headquarters.The victim, Geeta, had started exhibiting symptoms of psychological distress a few days before the incident. However, her father, 45-year-old Sukhpati, attributed her behavior to the influence of an evil spirit.On the fateful day, Sukhpati attacked Geeta with a pair of tongs in an attempt to "drive away" the supposed spirit. Terrified and injured, Geeta tried to escape, but Sukhpati picked up a stone and threw it at her.
