A case of fraud has come to light in Bhopal, where an individual allegedly posed as the director of a security agency and duped a job seeker with a fake promise of employment at AIIMS. The accused, identified as Than Singh, is alleged to have extracted Rs 20,000 from the complainant under the pretext of securing him a security guard position.
According to the complaint filed by Raghavendra Singh, the incident began in September 2024, when he met Than Singh near Center Point in Bhopal. The accused claimed he ran a company that supplied security personnel to AIIMS and promised Raghavendra a job starting in October 2024 for a total sum of Rs 80,000. As part of the agreement, Raghavendra paid Rs 20,000 in advance, with the assurance that the uniform and appointment would follow soon.
However, when the promised job did not materialize in October, Raghavendra attempted to contact Than Singh, who allegedly offered vague and evasive responses. Growing suspicious, Raghavendra personally visited AIIMS to verify the offer and discovered there was no such job opening or contract with the supposed security company.
Realizing he had been defrauded, Raghavendra approached the Jahangirabad police and filed a complaint. Following a preliminary investigation, an FIR was registered against Than Singh under charges of cheating and fraud.
