A 55-year-old man was hit by a speeding truck at Chhawani Naka under Bilkharia police station area late night on Thursday. The victim identified as Babulal was rushed to a nearby hospital and he is out of danger, police said. In-charge of Bilkharia police station Assistant Inspector Vijay Singh said the condition of the victim was reportedly stable and the search for the accused had been intensified and would be nabbed soon.
The victim is undergoing treatment at a private hospital. Meanwhile, police have identified the accused as one Jagdish Kewat, who is happened to be brother-in-law of the victim. During investigation police found that the accused worked as a truck driver and on Thursday night he came to the village and parked his truck near the victim house. However, after sometime the victim had an exchange of words with the accused after which the accused started his parked truck moving and hit the victim.
The accused fled the spot after hitting the victim. Police were trying to find out the clues behind the incident. The police registered a case under Section 307 of the IPC and have started further investigation. Till the filing of the report the accused remained absconding.
