Nishatpura police have booked a miscreant for sexually assaulting and blackmailing a 41-year-old married woman at Shivani Homes; accused used to threaten her of making the atrocity public.
According to the police, 41-year-old victim was sexually assaulted and was blackmailed for more than ten months at Shivani Homes by her tenant Shekhar Verma.
The accused took the room on rent in the month of April 2017 and later sexually assaulted her and threatened her of making the atrocity public and continued to harass her physically and mentally.
The victim told the police that the accused even after vacating the room used to visit her and would sexually exploit her and the harassment continued for the past ten months.
A complaint was lodged with the Nishatpura police by the victim after she failed to bear the atrocities by the accused and his demands of money and reported the incident to her husband . She had provided Rs 5000 to the accused earlier.
In her complaint the victim stated that the accused was her tenant and used to live alone. In the month of April last year when she had gone to provide tea to the accused in his room the accused sexually assaulted her and threaten to keep mum and not to report the incident to anyone. Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation, the police have registered a case under section 376 2(N) and 506 of the IPC and started further investigation. Police said that the search for the accused has been started.
