A 28-year-old man was arrested for molesting and trying to strangulate a pregnant woman at Vishwakarma Nagar on Wednesday. The accused Dilip Singh reached the victim's house and told her younger sister to bring milk from a shop. When she left, he tried to sexually assault the victim. When she resisted, the accused tried to strangulate her. However, at that moment, her sister returned and raised an alarm.
Within minutes, locals reached the spot and later handed over to the police. A case under sections 354, 307 and 506 of the IPC has been booked against him. Police said that the victim claimed that the accused was like her brother. The accused worked as a labour and at the time of the incident, the victim’s family was away.
Meanwhile a woman employee of a private telecom company was molested by her colleague in Shankar Nagar on Tuesday. According to police, Prakash Tiwari tried to molest his colleague on Tuesday after she left office. Investigation Officer MR Uike said that when the victim left office, Tiwari passed obscene comments and tried to tear her clothes.
When she raised an alarm, the locals gathered, beat him and handed him to police.
