A 30-year-old man committed suicide at Bal Vihar Colony residence under Piplani police station area later on Sunday night.
The deceased Sonu Sen was found hanging at his house and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead.
In the initial investigation family members of the deceased told the police that the deceased borrowed money and was not able to repay the money which was the reason behind his suicide.
Police suspects that the borrowed money was the reason behind the suicide but it would be investigated as no suicide note has been recovered to support the claim of family members.
The deceased used to run a barber shop and used to remain depressed over the borrowed money as he was not able to repay.
The deceased was addicted to liquor and returned home in an inebriated state on Sunday night.
After the preliminary investigation, the body was sent for post mortem and the police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have commenced further investigation.
Meanwhile, Govindpura police have registered a case of murder after it was found that the woman who was found dead was killed with a sharp edged weapon.
In the morning on Sunday a woman was found dead and in the investigation it was found that her throat was silted.
The police have registered a case under section 302 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
The identity of the deceased is yet to be established, said police.
