A district court here on Friday sentenced a man to life imprisonment for sexually assaulting a teenage girl two years ago and also imposed a fine of Rs 20,000 on the accused.
Additional Sessions Judge Saeeda Bano Rehman sentenced Mithun alias Raj for kidnapping and sexually assaulting the 15-year-old girl in 2011 along with his friend Santosh, who was still at large, to life imprisonment.The report said the accused had kidnapped the girl and took her to a secluded area where she was repeatedly sexually assaulted. They left the victim and escaped from scene.
later, a complaint was lodged by the victim family with Ratibad police and a case was registered under Section 363, 366 and 376 (2) of the IPC.Mithun was nabbed and was produced in the court. On July 16, the court had sentenced the accused guilty of rape and kidnapping.Meanwhile, Hanumanganj police on Thursday arrested a man for sexually exploiting a 16-year-old girl for past three years.
Police said the victim’s mother found the accused Fareed Qureshi in an objectionable condition with her daughter after which he escaped the spot.The family along with the victim lodged a complaint with the Hanumanganj police and a case under Section 376 of the IPC was registered.The victim’s family lives in the rented house owned by the accused. The victim told police that the accused had threatened her if the incident became public.
later, the parents of the girl along with their daughter approached the police station and alleged Fareed of raping their daughter in their absence.The victim girl remained mum over the incident as she was threatened for dire consequences by Fareed for revealing it any one.
