A 35-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances near a liquor shop under Bagh Sewania police station area on Wednesday.
Superintendent of Police Bhopal (South) Anshuman Singh told that the injuries on the victim’s body indicate physical assault and there are signs of struggle. His foot-wears were found in a proper condition which suggests that he did not have scuffle before death, he added.
Station House Officer of Bagh Sewania Dinesh Joshi suspected that the victim died due to excessive consumption of alcohol which was confirmed by the doctors in the short post-mortem report.
Initially, the police considered that the victim was killed due to excessive bleeding from his nose and head injury, but the doctors have confirmed that after the death the fluids of the body started oozing out due to which the blood was observed at the nose.
However, the police are yet to ascertain the reason of the death. The viscera are yet to be examined by the doctors and post-mortem report is still awaited, said Joshi. At present, the police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC.
The victim Rajesh Soni used to sell vegetables and lived at Bagh Mughalia. He was drunkard which became the reason of his death. The family has denied any enmity and financial problem.
