A tragic accident occurred on Tuesday night when Kalla Bansakar (50), a resident of Chhola Mandir, fell from a moving train near the Sukhi Sewania railway track. Bansakar, a porter by profession, was returning from the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj.
According to his son, Ravi Bansakar, Kalla had left for the Kumbh on Saturday, participated in religious rituals, and was on his way back to Bhopal early Tuesday morning. While traveling, he was reportedly sitting at the train’s gate, a risky position, and is believed to have fallen asleep. Losing his balance, he fell from the moving train onto the railway tracks.
Despite his injuries, Kalla managed to call his son, informing him of the accident and seeking help. Following his father’s directions, Ravi rushed to the spot and found him still breathing but critically injured. He immediately took him to the hospital, where doctors attempted to save him. However, Kalla succumbed to his injuries later that night.
The Sukhi Sewania police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances of the accident. After a post-mortem examination on Wednesday, the body was handed over to the family for the last rites.
