A 30-year-old married man died while his wife escaped with injuries after their bike was hit by a speeding vehicle between Bilkisganj and Jhagaria in Sehore in the evening on Tuesday.
The injured husband and wife in the accident were taken to a private hospital for treatment where the husband died during treatment while the treatment of the wife continues as she escaped the accident with severe injuries.
Sehore police have started an investigation after a preliminary investigation. After the incident, the pickup driver fled leaving the vehicle on the spot.
Virendra Kushwaha lived in Gautam Budh Colony Kolar Tiraha. On August 15 he planned to go to Sehore with brother and sister-in-law. Left home at 10 in the morning. It was raining heavily on the way between Bilkisganj and Jhagaria.
Virendra and his wife Vinita were riding on a bike and during which a speeding Bolero pickup first overtook and hit the bike which was moving ahead. Due to this, the Vinita sitting behind on the bike fell away after the collision. While Virendra was driving the bike got stuck in the rear tire of the pickup. The pickup driver stopped the vehicle and fled from the spot.
A large number of villagers gathered together and helped to remove the trapped Virendra along with the bike under the pickup. He was rushed to hospital where his condition was reportedly critical. On Tuesday night, doctors told to shift to another hospital but before that died in the evening.
