A 24-year-old man died while other youth sustained severe injuries after their motorbike was hit by a speeding truck at RRl square on Wednesday.
According to police, Praveen Rai along with his friend Amarjyoti Prasad was hit by a speeding truck bearing registration number MP-04-HE-3095. The driver of the truck has fled.
The victims were rushed to a nearby hospital where Rai was declared brought dead while Prasad was admitted in a critical situation in Narmada hospital.
On the receipt of the information, a police team rushed to the spot and seized the vehicle. After the preliminary investigation, the body was sent for the post mortem.
The deceased was a resident of Shakti Nagar and met with the accident when he was on his way to Saket Nagar along with his friend. The police have registered a case under section 304 A of the CrPC and have started search for the errant driver who is still missing.
Condition of Prasad is reportedly serious as he has sustained severe injuries in his hands, legs and upper parts of stomach. Meanwhile an engineering student of a private college died after his motorbike rammed into a road divider near Bhanpur on Wednesday.
According to police, Naveen along with his friend Vijay was on their way to a tea stall but lost control and rammed a road divider. They were rushed to a nearby hospital where Naveen was declared dead. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the CrPC and have started investigation.
