The TT Nagar police have booked a Mumbai based man for duping a doctor to the tune of Rs 2 lakh in the name of providing herbal medicines; doctor was duped by providing medicines earlier and later duped him.
Police said that the victim SN Singh (75) was duped by Mumbai based herbal medicine company representative Sanjay Tyagi.
The action was taken after a complaint was lodged by victim stating that he met Sanjay Tyagi who offered the products and victim agreed and products worth Rs 6 lakh were bought by the victim and results were found satisfactory by the doctor who prescribed the medicines to patients.
Later the victim contacted accused and this time Sanjay offered him medicine at low price and trapped the victim. The victim ordered medicine worth Rs 2 lakh. The accused was provided with the money near a restaurant in TT Nagar area.
At the time of providing money, accused was accompanied with Montu who was also booked for the fraud. The accused collected money and for the next four months, nothing was provided to the victim. He tried to contact the accused but failed to get medicine or refund.
Victim lodged complaint with the TT Nagar police regarding the fraud and based on complaint a case of fraud was registered by the police and search for the accused has been started.
