A 25-year-old girl was sexually exploited for the past two years on the promise of marriage at Aishbagh area, a complaint was lodged by the victim with AJK police station on Saturday.
According to the police, the victim was sexually assaulted by the accused Anil Singh for the past two years and during the period assured her of marriage and continued to sexually exploit her.
Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case under sections 376 and 506 of the IPC.
The victim came into contact with the accused around two years ago and was lured by the accused of marriage. The two developed relationship and on November 2018 , the victim was accompanied by the accused to his house at Aishbagh where she was sexually assaulted and the ordeal continued for the next few months. The victim claimed that she was held captive and assaulted physically and sexually.
Later, when the victim presurised her of marriage, the accused threatened her of life and escaped from his house. The victim informed her family and they approached police and lodged a complaint on Saturday.
The victim is pursuing nursing course from a private college. She hails from Hoshangabad.
The accused kept her captive and used to assault her. On Saturday she managed to escape and lodged complaint. She was also abused of her caste. Police acted swiftly and arrested the accused.
Accused used to work at JP hospital as contractual support staff. His details are under investigation.
