A 38-year-old man was arrested for sexually assaulting and threatening a 30-year-old woman at Bank Colony under Jehangirabad police station area on Wednesday.
According to the police, the victim was sexually assaulted and threatened to life by the accused Dinesh Yadav who was in live-in relationship with the victim but later refused to marry her and threatened her. Police said that after separation from her husband around two years ago she was living with the accused Dinesh Yadav.
Based on the complaint, after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 376 and 506 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
The victim got married around six years ago with a lalghati resident but the marriage was not a fruitful one and they later divorced. After the divorce victim used to remain alone during which she came into contact with the accused.
During the investigation Dinesh told the police that he is brother-in-law of Congress corporator of ward no 34 Meena Yadav but when the Congress corporator Meena Yadav clarified that the accused is not her brother-in-law and she had informed the police regarding the same in written.
In her complaint victim told the police that she faced atrocities from the accused. She was beaten brutally and was sexually exploited by the accused. She started to live with the accused after she was assured by the accused that he would marry her but later he refused and started to harass her. Dejected over the behavior she lodged a complaint with the police.
