A 32-year old man, who captivated and sexually assaulted a 10-year old girl on Wednesday during the festival of Holi, was arrested from Khajuri Bypass on Thursday said the DIG Raman Singh Sikarwar while speaking with the media persons on
Friday.
Sikarwar said that during the investigation when the video footages of the CCTV cameras were searched accused was identified and a man of the same description was found at Khajuri Bypass who was nabbed by the police and in the investigation he confessed the crime.
In the investigation the accused confessed that he left the victim near a petrol pump in Misrod and based on the information a police team was rushed to the spot and found the victim in an unconscious state.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital where it was confirmed that she was sexually assaulted and her condition is reportedly stable.
Durinbg the investigation the accused was identified as Pramod Sharma who took the girl on his bicycle.
The family members after failing to find the victim lodged a missing complaint with the Awadhpuri police. Piplani, Govindpura, Ashoka Garden, Misrord and Bilkharia police were alerted and search for the accused was started which resulted into the arrest of the accused.
Incident took place when the victim was playing near Ram Mandir area during which the accused approached her and lured her of sweets and went missing.
The police have registered a case under section 376 of the IPC and have started further investigation.
The vital clue in the incident was the information given by the children playing with the victim who told the police that a man on bicycle took the victim.
