Katara Hills police have arrested a 36-year-old man who attempted to kidnap a 10-year-old girl in his car and molested victim near Spring Valley locality on Wednesday morning. The accused identified as Vikram Singh Rajput tried to kidnap the victim in his car and molested her after he failed to escape with the victim.
According to investigation officer ASI Arti Tiwari, the incident took place on Wednesday around 11am when the victim was on her way to a pharmacy along with her mother and aunt and while on her way the accused who was passing from the area in his car stopped car near the girl and tried to pull her inside the vehicle but her alert aunt saved her who was walking very close to the victim.
Surprisingly annoyed over the aunt’s saving the victim accused who was heavily drunk started to abuse after victim aunt raised alert and which alerted victim’s mother and father who was taking cattle for grazing and locals also rushed toward the incident spot.
The accused was chased by the locals and later handed over the accused to police. The accused was not able to stand as he was heavily drunk.
Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under sections 354 and 294 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 9 and 10 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was registered against the accused. Police have started searching for other details of the accused.
