Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is seeking support of all sections of people including voluntary organizations to improve the education sector by bringing down the number of 'out of school children'.
While talking to media persons here on Saturday, Chouhan said that the 'School Chalen Hum' drive still remains a Government programme only.
“I have decided to make it a campaign to improve the education level of the State. last year, around 5 lakh children were out of school, either by leaving their studies in between or did not join the schools,” he said, adding that quality of education in the schools would also be improved by taking several measures.
Chouhan said that his Government will suggest that education promoters should be appointed at village level and they would see enrolment of all the children and they would also maintain a check on the students who discontinue the school.
The Government is also planning to form groups of people interested in taking the children to the school in both urban and rural areas. Chouhan claimed that in the previous Government, the whole infrastructure of school education in rural areas was distorted. “We are doing our best, the results would be visible soon,” he added.
The Chief Minister also informed that besides seeking help from the people, the Government would also launch special campaigns in this direction by organizing rallies and exhibitions. A contest would also be organized to select the best slogan for the 'School Chalen Hum' drive.
