A major fire broke out at the Win Win showroom at Raisen Road in the wee hours of Thursday. Three vehicles, furniture, office equipment and interiors worth lakhs of rupees were damaged in the fire.
Police said at around 3 am a major fire broke out at the Mahindra showroom. The sales manager Sanjay Jharia said the incident took place at around 3 am due to a short circuit inside the showroom. One pick-up cab and two Maximo vehicles which were being used for display sustained damage in the fire and technical teams were assessing the loss to the vehicles.
The interiors of the showroom were damaged completely, the furniture was burnt to ashes, computers and office equipments were also damaged. It was not possible to ascertain the loss but it would run into lakhs of rupees, told Jharia. After receiving the information six fire tender vehicles rushed to the spot and took 4 hours to douse the fire. The fire tenders had a hard time fighting the fire as they were not able to enter the showroom after which the glass panel of the first floor was broken. Negligence on the part of fire tenders was seen as the fire staff were seemingly forgotten to bring face masks which took almost good two hours to bring back as they entered the showroom. The automobile showroom is owned by Virendra Singh.
