Maintain friendly relationship with people, cops told

Police should maintain friendly relationship with people while criminals should fear police, said Home Minister Babulal Gaur. He was addressing a meeting of senior Police officers at State Police Headquarters on Tuesday.

Police officers should inspect their areas frequently and maintain good communication with people of their areas to understand their condition and problems, he added.

Emphasizing the importance of physical fitness of police personnel due to the challenging work handled by police Gaur said that physical fitness is vital for police personnel as the job is very demanding.

He assured that he would take initiatives for approval of new posts and problems of cops related to housing and other issues would be taken.

During the meeting DGP Surendra Sinh told that human resources and physical assets have been increased with the police and the increased resources would be used for safety of people.

DGP Sinh instructed IGs and DIGs should visit their area on quarterly basis and communicate with the people of their division. SPs should supervise complaints of a police station at least once in a month.

Better implementation of Beat system, investigation of crime against women by Mahila police personnel, execution of warrants, disposal of pending pension issues of retired police personnel and basic health examination of the police personnel over 55 years of age, were among the other instructions given by DGP Sinh.

Raising concern over the easy exoneration he said that in several cases it is witnessed that negligence of police results in easy exoneration and in all such cases SP should review and if required appeal. Minor offences should not be dealt with negligence and immediate action should be taken.

Police personnel and official from every district should be trained in social media to keep an eye on misuse of social media.
