With TUV300, the company aims to strengthen its presence in the compact SUV segment. Quanto, another small SUV from the company's stable, has not been able to create sizable presence in the market. The company is targeting to address needs of those customers who are looking for a pure SUV in the compact segment, which at present is dominated by crossover models.

It has been designed and developed in-house by the Mahindra design team and research has been carried out at the Mahindra Research Valley, Chennai.
