Maharashtra polls: Shah entrusts Arvind Menon for Vidarbha region

Published on:

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah has shouldered the responsibility of election management of the Maharashtra Assembly’s Vidarbha region seats to MP-BJP’s organisational general secretary Arvind Menon.

Menon would remain in Nagpur till October 13 but even before reaching there he has already deputed a team of diligent party workers at main places of Vidarbha.

State general secretary Vinod Gotia has been made coordinator. In the first phase, State president and MP Nandkumar Singh Chouhan would remain there for two days to monitor the framework prepared by the workers of the State in this area. Programme of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is also been made for the region.

Menon in a statement here on Tuesday said that the Maharashtra Assembly election has come with lot of strong prospects for the BJP. Rallies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi would make the chances brighter. The exodus of Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) candidates towards BJP has not only increased the difficulties of these political parties but has ensured their defeat. The BJP workers are excited with this and are taking it as an opportunity. The party workers are indulged in the campaigning with full might because their long time pending desire of going it alone in the Maharashtra assembly has been fulfilled, he added.

He said that during the assembly elections in four states in 2013 the people provided thumping majority to the BJP in three states thus the party workers are excited with that and sees this opportunity as the formation of BJP government  in one more state.

He said that the failures of Congress NCP rule and the corruption by them is in the mind of the people of Maharashtra and they are ready to teach a lesson to the Congress-NCP regime.
