The annual fest of Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) Maffick-2013 concluded with a lot of fervor here on Sunday. The three-day fest was filled with fun, dance and music. Students of MANIT enjoyed these days to the fullest where they explored their distinctive talents and took the pleasure of the fest.

Highly decorated backdrop and the colourful costumes worn by the participants added an extra effect to their performances.

Further, the lighting effect was such that explained the expression of the performance. The use of red, green and blue light effect strengthened their performances. The students and faculty members enjoyed the show.

The attraction of the fest was the musical concert After Dark (unplugged) and Rock Resurrection. The students at the fest had a lot of fun with the other competitions like Angry Birds (live). The students prepared a set where they could actually play the angry birds through balls and a big catapult. Besides, students were also tested on their cooking abilities under the Maffick Master Chef competition.

Further, the boys of the college enjoyed the competition ‘Maffick Riders’. The concept was inspired by MTV Roadies where students would come out as winners after facing struggle and panic. The competition Mr and Miss Maffick was won by Abdul Basit and Rishika Gaur respectively. Further, other prizes were also distributed on the last day. The ‘Do as it is’ dance competition was a heart throbbing one, as the students performed same choreography on stage as the movie song.

The logo of the backdrop was inspired from the movie the “dark knight rises”. the venue was prepared accordingly, paper lamps dimly lighting the area hanging trees symbolising the ray of hope in a dark and abyssal place.

It was a great attempt by the students of MANIT to try and reveal the hidden talents of such style at the college level.
