BHEl Shop Allotment Policy and Model license Agreement-2014 released by BHEl Corporate Office has been termed as unbiased, transparent and due process in a judgment by Madras High Court.
Challenging the policy, a writ petition was filed before Jabalpur High Court by a few shop holders of the BHEl Public premises, which has been rejected by the court. The earlier licence owning shop-holders can now renew their licences in line with the new shop policy. The monthly license fee of shops in Bhopal is being revised as per the prevailing Collector Rate in that area.
Categorising the shops as general and essential the license renewal rate has been revised keeping the Collector Rate in consideration.
license fee of 322 shops of 10 feet X 10 in various areas has been revised from, Rs 116 to Rs 170 per month, 102 shops from Rs 190 to Rs 307 per month, and 87 shops from Rs 290 to Rs 395 per months is fixed as maximum license fee. Similarly, in the range of shops under the general business of 10 feet X 10 feet in various markets, fee has been increased from Rs 1160 to Rs 1700 per month, 122 shops from Rs 1900 to Rs 3070 per month and 294 shops from Rs 2900 to Rs 3950 per month. The license fee has been fixed at slab of Rs 3950 Max.
