In a tragic incident, a lover couple in a suicide pact, committed suicide here in a house in Azad Nagar locality on Tuesday night. The incident came to light on Wednesday morning when landlord of the house Prakash Puri found body of the deceased Ankush Kumawat hanging from the ceiling, while his female friend's body was lying on a bed adjacent to his body. He immediately informed about the matter to the police. Azad Nagar police immediately rushed to the incident site after being informed about the matter took both the bodies in its custody and sent it to MY hospital for postmortem.
According to police, the deceased identified as Ankush Kumawat, a native of Rajasthan, was staying at the residence of one Prakash Puri in Virat Nagar colony of Azad Nagar as a tenant. He was in a relation with a girl Ranu Wankhede, a resident of Omshanti Nagar since long and everyone in the families of both the deceased knew about their relationship, even as the girl's parents were opposed to their daughter's relationship with Ankush and had counseled the latter to stay away from the relationship on several occasions.
According to police, Ankush's friend Ranu had left her residence on Tuesday afternoon on the plea that she was going to meet her female friend. However, after she did not return her residence till late Tuesday evening, her family members started searching her but to no avail. They rang up Ranu on her cell phone on several occasions but she did not pick up the call. later they lodged a missing report with the police. Surprisingly, police did not trace her location from her mobile phone. Police said that going by the circumstantial evidences; it appeared that deceased Ankush had first killed his paramour before being hanging himself from ceiling of the room.
