Sleuths of the lokayukta police here on Wednesday arrested an official of the Madhya Pradesh Housing Board for talking a bribe of `10,000. The accused has been identified as Vinod Sen, in-charge, estate department of the Madhya Pradesh Housing Board. Action against Sen was taken by the lokayukta police following a complaint of one Maansingh Rajawat. According to complainant, the accused had been demanding a bribe of Rs 10,000 from him in lieu of giving a NOC from the Housing Board prior to purchase of a flat and garage construction in Ayodhyapuri locality of the city.
The complainant in this regard had lodged a complaint with the lokayukta police few days back and as per the plan laid out by the lokayukta police, the complainant here on Wedensday went to the office of the accused located in Press Complex on A B Road. While he was giving a bribe of Rs 10,000 to the accused, the sleuths of the lokayukta police who were in plain clothes there, caught the accused red-handed.
