The Special Police Establishment (SPE) of lokayukta has a chance to smile; For the first time in the history, the special courts have on Monday convicted the accused in seven different cases registered by lokayukta police.
With the conviction in the seven cases, lokayukta has achieved the highest rate of conviction since the day it was established. Official sources informed that during the year 2015 till date the loakyukta has registered 112 cases.
Around 367 challans were produced in different courts which were possible by the readiness in providing the consent for prosecution was provided by the administration.
From the year 1993 to 2003 the conviction rate was 39 percent and from year 2003 to 2009 the rate of conviction increased to 55 percent.
Kailashchandra Choudhary Assistant Grade 3 at Tehsil Deori employee was convicted by Sagar Special Court for two years of imprisonment under section 7 of PC Act and three years under section 13 (1) D and along with the imprisonment he was fined Rs 5000.
Excise Officer of Shajapur Durgadutta was convicted by Shajapur Special Court of Amassing Wealth disproportionate to his income for three years of imprisonment and fined Rs 100.
Assistant Grade 2 employed at District Head Office Jabalpur Sattar Ali was convicted by Jabalpur Special Court for 4 years under section 13(1) D and 13 (2) and fined Rs 10000.
Sanitation Officer with Dewas Municipal Corporation Daulat Pathroda was convicted under section 13(1) D and 13 (2) for 3 years and fined Rs 2000. Patwari Anil Vishwakarma was convicted under section 7 of the PC Act for 3 years and fined Rs 10000.
Assistant Sub Inspector TP Tripathi posted with Gunga police was convicted under section 7 of PC Act for three years and under section 13(1) D and 13 (2) for 3 years and fined Rs 2000.
Assistant Grade 3 employee with Woman and Child Development was convicted under section 7 of PC Act for three years and under section 13 (1) D and 13 (2) for 3 years and fined Rs 10000.
