The Special Police Establishment of lokayukta on Wednesday caught red-handed the sub-registrar of Nasrullahganj of Sehore district, while accepting bribe of Rs 2,500.

The police also arrested sub-registrar’s personal clerk who was appointed only for the purpose of underhand dealings. According to the police, Gajanand Jat of Nasrullahganj had applied for NOC on his residential plot on March 10. After few days, sub-registrar Rameshchandra Sen demanded Rs 3,500 from Jat stating that the official fees is Rs 500 and the remaining Rs 3,000 would be mine. But finally after negotiations the deal was struck at Rs 2500. During this period Jat made complaint with the lokayukta Police about the bribe. The lokayukta Police provided ink marked currency notes to him.

On Wednesday Jat called Sen and told him that he is ready to pay the agreed amount and at about 4 pm he reached the sub registrar office and handed over the amount to Sen. After accepting the money Se said that you should have given this money to my personal clerk Dharmendra Jaiswal, it is Jaiswal who do this job for me and handed over the amount to Jaiswal. In the meanwhile lokayukta raided and red handedly caught Sen and Jaiswal and recovered bribed Rs 2500. After arresting Sen and Jaiswal the lokayukta team was amazed to note that Jaiswal was not a government servant and that he was appointed privately by Sen for taking his bribe. Manoj Singh of the lokayukta police said that Sen and Jaiswal were arrested red handedly by us while accepting bribe and after the arrests we came to know that Jaiswal is not a government servant and that he was serving as private employee of Sen.
